Book Review: Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn

With fun loving characters and a dog sidekick, I can’t wait to review Georgie, All Along by Kate Claiborne for you guys. It’s a book that you won’t want to skip!!

Book Information

After losing her job, Georgie returns home to the small town that she grew up in. Without a clue of what she wants in life, she sets out to do all the things her teenage self wanted to do in the hopes that she’ll find herself.

Levi is the black sheep of his family. He doesn’t know where he belongs. That is, until he meets Georgie. She makes him feel like a real person again and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to help her realize that she’s more herself than anyone he’s ever known.

Review | Heidi Dischler

When I think about books like Georgie, All Along, I think of Lucy Score and her novel Things We Never Got Over or Things We Hide From the Light (both of which were super similar in style to this book). They are simple, fun, romance novels that have a little bit (okay, maybe a lot) of spice.

For this novel specifically, though, I found there to be a little more depth than Lucy Score’s because of Georgie’s quest for self discovery. She tried so hard in the novel to find where she fit in, just like Levi, and I absolutely loved it. I also loved how Georgie finally discovered herself, but I won’t get into that because I don’t want to spoil the book.

The writing style is very light and airy, which I appreciate. This is one of those books you pick up to lose yourself in and not have to think about the complex issues within it. It still has a great plot, great characters, and great writing, so you don’t have to sacrifice substance for your need for light reading (always a huge plus).

The romance in this book? Absolutely spot on. Levi and Georgie’s chemistry was palpable and they were a train wreck at times, but one that was… a good train wreck? Not exactly sure what a good analogy would be for that 🙂 Just rest assured that you’ll love it.

Overall, Levi and Georgie definitely stole my heart. With a book as fun as this one, you’ll absolutely adore Georgie, All Along if you love Lucy Score’s Knockemout series.
