Now THIS is what I wanted when I started the series!! Shatter Me, Destroy Me, Unravel Me, Fracture Meand Ignite Me were all okay, but Restore Me? This was the action-packed romance I needed in my life.

This novel basically picks up where Ignite Me ended. I know this one was published after the series was supposedly “finished”, but I’m actually really enjoying this addition. You can see Mafi’s writing skills have grown so much since the first novel and I so so so loved it. The world has grown more, the whole Reestablishment feels more real, and everything has a clearer picture rather than just being centered on the characters and their relationships. You get action, romance, and a whole range of emotions and feelings and excitement. It felt rounded out for once and it was so great to see the characters I fell in love with FINALLY put in a world that felt almost real.

I think a huge reason why this novel felt so much better to me is the fact that the plot feels a little more developed than in previous novels. We had a clear point that the author was guiding us towards and let me tell you, that cliffhanger? Yeah, it definitely left me hanging by a single thread and ready to start the next novel.

Oddly enough, I actually liked Juliette a lot more in this novel than I have in previous novels. The chemistry between her and Warner is definitely more palpable now and isn’t the main focus of the novel (which I love by the way, because Shatter Me was NOT it with all the romance that should have been balanced between action and romance).

Spoilers ahead.

Alright, so I just need to get this off my chest: WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK??? Like Juliette got abducted by her parents after killing an entire auditorium of people? Like 600 something people??? I am sooo confused and so traumatized for her and SO ready for the next novel.

Overall, this was way better than all of the previous novels in my opinion. I liked Juliette more, I liked the plot so much more, and I absolutely love the growth in Tahereh Mafi’s writing. 4.5 out of 5 stars!!
