Movie Review: Don’t Move (2024)
Twisted and absolutely insane, I’m pretty sure I bit the heck out of my lip and now my adrenaline is through the roof. Check out my full review of Don’t Move (2024) below!

Iris (Kelsey Asbille) has just lost her only son to a terrible accident and can’t imagine going on without him. On the edge of a literal cliff, a stranger (Finn Wittrock) talks her down, but his plans are a little more sinister. He drugs Iris with something that causes paralysis and now she must use everything left in her to survive.

Guys, I am so on edge right now. After watching this movie I feel like I need to go do yoga or something just to get my heart rate down. This is not a normal serial killer movie, which is what I thought I was getting into. Nah, this was more of an “escape the killer” movie. It reminded me a lot of Rust Creek (2019), and the last thriller kidnapping movie I watched was Amber Alert (2024). So, I want to talk a little bit about the plot, then the pacing, and then the characters.
With the plot, there was SO much that was happening and each thing that happened left me in a whirlwind especially since Iris could never move after the first thirty minutes of the movie. My goodness I went back and forth from wanting her to escape the kidnapper to wanting her to get saved by the kidnapper because she was about to die since she couldn’t move out of the situation she was in. The way this was written was incredibly thrilling and horrifying and so many other adjectives. The ending was also absolutely satisfying and circled back around to something that happened earlier in the movie (which was a perfect moment in my opinion). The only thing I would’ve liked to see more of was maybe justice for the girls who died at the kidnapper’s hands. The ending is a bam moment and then cut to black. That’s all I can say without spoiling it. Now, on to the pacing.
Like I said in the very beginning, this movie had me on edge. My heart was racing the whole entire time and I feel like I just ran a marathon and haven’t caught my breath yet. I really really enjoyed this whole thing and it went incredibly fast for an hour and a half movie.
With the characters, you really only get four that you truly interact with, which makes it even more powerful that the movie packs such a punch. Our main actress, Kelsey Asbille, does such an amazing job. Like I just wanted to sit there and say, “Breathe, gosh darn it!” because she was making this horrific gasping sound at one point. I also just loved her because it reminded me of One Tree Hill 😂. Same with Finn Wittrock except the whole time I was trying to remember what he played in and it was freaking Halloween Town High!!!! Ugh he was also just so manipulative in this movie and he made you want to like him and then hate him and then hate him even more haha. They both did amazingly.
Overall, I seriously enjoyed this movie and I’m going to need to go do something calming to recover. Highly highly recommend if you like thrillers and movies about people escaping!! The pacing was great, I loved the story, and my gosh were our two main characters absolutely insane in their great acting skills.
