Organizing My Bookshelves

So, this is the first time I’ve done a lifestyle post in a long time (but I promise it still has to do with books, of course!) Today, I get to share with you a super special time for me. My husband and I just got our first house!! You know what that means? Decked-out personal library!!! This is the first time in my life that I’ve had all of my books in one place. Some used to be boxed in my mom’s attic. Some stayed under my bed. I brought some to college with me before I graduated. Needless to say, they’ve been all over the place.

Now, after years of this literally being my dream, I finally get to organize my bookshelves and have a personal library! You can watch the video of me below as I go through each book 🙂

The way that I ended up organizing my bookshelves probably isn’t normal in today’s sense. Most people I know are organizing their books by the color of the  book cover (which, I have to say, is absolutely beautiful and so aesthetically pleasing), but me and my crazy brain has to have them all alphabetically by author. The only two shelves I have that aren’t alphabetical have non-fiction, my husband’s Halo books (I have no idea what to do with them…. lol), and then my TBR shelf (because everyone has to have one of those!)

So, yeah, I was pretty stoked to get started on this and absolutely love how it turned out. The bookshelves that I bought for my personal library were actually pretty affordable and you can buy them on Amazon! They’re the Furinno Luder Bookcases, and I absolutely love them for the price and quality! My dream has finally come true 🙂

How do you organize your bookshelves? Let me know in the comments!
