Tier Ranking Colleen Hoover Books
Hey, everyone! So, today I’m going to be tier ranking Colleen Hoover books! Whether I’ve read them, or haven’t read them, these are my thoughts! If you’re like me and didn’t even realize that tier ranking existed (even though it’s literally the coolest thing ever), here’s the website: https://tiermaker.com.
Haven't Read
I honestly really thought I had read most of Colleen Hoover’s novels. But jeez. After seeing this tier ranking, I must not be reading as much as I thought. In my “Haven’t Read” tier, I have all of the novels below. (***I now have read all of these novels except Two More Days and One More Step, and you can read my reviews for them on my blog!***).
Not My Thing
Alright, so there’s a variety of reasons for why a few of Colleen Hoover’s novels ended up in “Not My Thing.” Layla should go without explanation if you’ve read it… but as for Regretting You and Without Merit, I’m just not one for family drama. Not when I’m going into a novel looking for romance. Regretting You did have romance, but there were a few things that really peeved me and a lot of it has to do with the cheating that happens in the novel. That’s all I’ll say about that….
Okay
There’s only one book that I put into the “Okay” tier and a lot of it had to do with things like plot and lack of character arcs. All Your Perfects really had too much doom and gloom for me, and felt really overbearing in the grief department. I think I’d prefer something with a little more story and plot rather than a novel like this one where it just shows you all the ways that something can go wrong.
A Good Read
The “A Good Read” tier has a few of the novels that I really liked, but didn’t fall in love with or swoon over. Confess, Heart Bones, Hopeless, and Maybe Someday all fall into this category. Like I said, I really did like these books. Some of the plots twists were absolutely crazy and amazing. The novels themselves just didn’t leave an emotional impact on me. I still would recommend them to anyone who loves Colleen Hoover, though.
Still Beautiful
You’d think that I wouldn’t need this many tiers to rank Colleen Hoover novels, but there really is such a huge difference between the “A Good Read” and “Still Beautiful” tiers. For this tier, I reserved it for the novels that made my heart ache, but didn’t necessarily leave me thinking and dreaming about it days later. Ugly Love and November 9 fall into this tier for their beauty and amazing plots. They just weren’t “The Best of the Best” in my opinion.
The Best of the Best
This is it. “The Best of the Best” Colleen Hoover novels. I’m not sure how many people will agree with this, but these novels are literally the most well written, emotionally taxing, and, in some cases, the most chills-inducing novels of all. It Ends with Us, Reminders of Him, and the makes-you-stay-up-all-night Verity are all in this tier for the best of the best. The only one that I’ve read recently from these is Reminders of Him, but that’s how I know they deserve to be in this tier because I STILL think about them.
